The Houses - la Quercia

"la Quercia" has been named after the old tree right beside it. Quercia is a typical Tuscan tree in the oak family - and this particular one offers its shade to most of the veranda outside the house.

"la Quercia" is on two levels. On the ground floor you will find a cozy living-room with a fully equipped modern kitchen and dining area.

This  part of la Quercia was previously the stable - though looking at it now it is difficult to imagine cows and horses having once sought shelter there.

Going up the old and worn stone staircase, you will find two bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Walking on the original cotto, one can imagine the many feet that has passed along the corridor, as it undulates its way down towards the large main bedroom. Here there is a double bed and more than plenty of space for a cot or extra child bed.

The second bedroom has normally two single beds, though all our beds can be hooked together to form a double bed or left as singles, all depending on what is needed.

Looking out the windows facing west, you will see the colourful and flowery garden of Villa Stabbia, whilst looking out the windows facing east, there is the magnificent view over the valley, the fields and all the majestic olive trees.

Time

Does time exist?
I gravely doubt it.
But gosh, what should we do
without it?
